There are 16 Award Categories.

Who judges the Awards?

A select group of business leaders judges the Award submissions.

Do I have to be a member of the Penticton Chamber to win an award?

No, you do not need to be a member of the Chamber to win an award.

Do I have to be a member of the Penticton Chamber to nominate a business, non-profit or individual for an award?

No, you do not need to be a member of the Penticton Chamber to nominate a company or person for an award.

Am I able to self-nominate?

Yes, you may nominate your own business, or non-profit, for an Award.

Do I need a business license to be nominated?

You only need a business license if the municipality where your business is located requires that you have a business license e.g. in Naramata you do not require a business license; in Penticton you do require a business license.

My business is located in Naramata – am I eligible to participate?

Yes – the Awards recognizes business and non-profits in Penticton and area, which includes Naramata, as well as OK Falls, Keremeos and Summerland.

Is there a fee associated with nominating a business or person for an Award?

Nominating a deserving business or individual for an Award is FREE.

Which Award is the People’s Choice Award?

The Community Impact Award is the People’s Choice Award.  It is judged by the public via an online vote system.

Am I able to nominate an employee?

Yes, we encourage companies to nominate outstanding employees for the Most Valuable Employee Award. Just showing that your company notices the hard work and efforts of its employees, and takes action to highlight their employees can help boost staff morale and improve motivation as it acknowledges their contribution to your business success.  It may also help attract and retain new recruits, too.

How will my business benefit from being nominated for an Award?

Being nominated for an Award earns your business valuable positive public relations.  The Chamber announces all nominees via a press release which is sent to local media.  And all Award nominees are highlighted in the Small Business Week insert that is included in the Penticton Western News in early October.  You will also receive positive exposure at the Awards Gala evening.

How will my business benefit from winning an Award?
