Ambassadors

It is the intent of the Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce to assist our members in promoting their individual businesses to the greatest extent possible within Chamber guidelines.

The Ambassador Committee was established for that purpose. Chamber Ambassadors serve as the viable and visible “goodwill arm” of the Chamber. They are instrumental in the promotion of the Chamber and its members and constantly set a positive stage for new membership growth and retention of existing members.

Primary functions of a Chamber Ambassador include:

  • Help maintain the present level of membership through personal contact with members, by attending special Chamber events, Business After Business and Chamber Luncheons. Ambassadors encourage networking by approaching attendees, introducing themselves as a Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, welcoming them to the event, and “working” the room with them.
  • Assist in the recruitment of new members by means of referrals when able. Chamber Ambassadors help to promote the Chamber to businesses in the area and businesses who are not currently members by inviting them to our events, and introducing them around. Ambassadors encourage non- members to become members of the Chamber.
  • Work with the staff of the Chamber of Commerce by keeping them informed of any new prospects, or if a current Chamber member has a particular issue or concern.

I introduced my wife to the Okanagan region one May weekend and we bought our new home the following weekend. All pieces were fitting together nicely, but one piece was left to place. Something to keep us out of trouble and giving us the opportunity of travel when we wanted. A unique and boutique wine tour operation came to mind. The Wine Wagon was born.
