    Proposed by-law changes for 2018 AGM

     

    3.1 (Original) Any individual directly engaged in trade, commerce or economic welfare of the community is eligible for Regular Membership in the Chamber.

     

    3.1 (Revised) Any reputable individual or business directly engaged in a legal trade, commerce or adding to the economic welfare of the community is eligible for membership in the Chamber.

     

    3.2 (Original) Any incorporated or unincorporated organization, including any association, corporation, society, partnership, trust, or estate, directly engaged in trade, commerce or economic welfare of the community is eligible for Regular Membership in the Chamber and will be eligible for membership benefits as determined by Chamber membership policies. They may only exercise Membership rights through authorized Representatives in accordance with these By-laws.

     

    3.2 (Revised) Any incorporated or unincorporated organization, association, society, trust, or estate, directly engaged in a legal trade, commerce or adding to the economic welfare of the community is eligible for membership. The Chamber Board may create different classes of membership at their discretion, which may contain different fees, rights and privileges. Only authorized representatives may exercise these membership rights and privileges in accordance with these By-laws.

     

    3.13 (Original) Any member who fails to pay the annual dues ceases to be a member and is automatically removed from the register.

     

    3.13 (Revised) Any member who fails to pay the annual dues within 90 days of their anniversary, may cease to be a member and can be automatically removed from the register.

     

    5.1 (Original) The first meeting of the Board shall take place immediately following the adjournment of the Annual General Meeting.

     

    5.18 (Revised) The first meeting of the new Board shall take place within 30 days following the adjournment of the Annual General Meeting.
