    There’s a good chance you already know Deb Lehune, she’s an active member of the Penticton community and has been a Chamber Ambassador since 2008. If you haven’t met her, looking for her smiling face greeting members at the door at the Chamber’s Business After Business events. Deb became an Ambassador to meet new business owners, when she transferred from Northern Alberta to Penticton.

    There’s no place like home, but that doesn’t stop the Coast Penticton Hotel from doing everything they can to make it feel like you never left. Since opening over 50 years ago the Coast Penticton Hotel has been a member of the Chamber, as a way to connect with the business community, promote their business tour tourists and businesses alike and to stay involved in what’s happening within the community.


    The Coast Penticton Hotel first opened in the 1960’s. “Once you experience the view from Penticton, with its lakes and mountain slopes, it can be tough to leave. We saw the demand from tourists and businesses wanting to visit,” say Robin and Janice Agur, owners of the Coast Penticton Hotel and long-time members of the community. Their newly renovated rooms feature complimentary Wi-Fi and local calls. Making their guests comfortable is their top priority.


    As a Coast hotel, they make sure you can expect full-service treatment and a range of wonderful amenities. Their ambassadors can provide hints about where to go and what to do. Just ask! They love to give their guests the inside scoop. The Coast Penticton Hotel encourages their guests experience penticton by visiting the local cafés and restaurants, taking in a concert in the new event centre, going to the farmers market, walking along the KVR trail, and tell them to be sure to bring home with some local wine and beer.

You can ski, play golf, go mountain biking, wine tasting and top that off with a delicious dinner overlooking the Lakes.     You received the Member Information Centre introduction email and your login/password, but what does all this mean anyway? The Chamber’s new database allows members to become more involved in their Business Directory Profile. Now, you can update your name, address, business hours, description and more from the comfort of your office! It’s only a click away.

    To login to the Member Information Centre visit penticton.org, on the top right-hand side is a link for “Member Login”. Using the Username and Password provided by the Chamber, you can login to your personal Member Information Centre account. (If you’re wondering why you may not have received this email, check with the Chamber to see who your account representative is, all Member Information Centre account info was sent to that representative.)


    Once logged into the Member Info Centre there are several options.

    • You can update your member profile (which correlates directly to the online Business Directory).
    • Search other members and within the Member Info Centre you’re able to see photos and videos posted by other members about their business.
    • Register for events online and secure your space at that event.
    • See who has updated their profile recently and when new members join.

    If you have a deal or service you’d like to offer to other members at a discount, you can add it to our Member2Member section, and it will be posted on penticton.org.

    All of these features are included in your yearly dues, so be sure to take full advantage of them!


    Our new Member Info Centre also has an Enhanced User feature! For only $85 per year members can upgrade their Business Directory listing to an Enhanced Listing. This listing includes several member benefits. Features included within an Enhanced Listing:

    • Ability to add photo galleries or video to your Business Directory listing
    • Ability to add a logo/image which will appear next to your business listing
    • Your business website link appears  above phone number in search results
    • A 200 character description of your business appears in Search Results
    • The ability to describe your company using up to 2000 characters
    • Priority Placement within the Business Directory
    • More detailed contact information (including the ability to add a business representative and their information)
    • Up to 20 keywords for search optimization
    • Ability to post ‘Hot Deals’ and promotions on the Hot Deals page
    • Post employment opportunities at your company on Job Opportunities page

    Sean Oh, Chamber AmbassadorYou may have met him at a Business After Business event, or you may have dealt with him at the Bank of Montreal. Sean Oh, the newest member of the Chamber’s Ambassador Team, has been active in the community meeting new people and networking. He’s become a familiar face at Chamber events, which became a perfect segue to becoming an ambassador.

    The Chamber’s team of ambassadors are made up of ten members who help the chamber ‘drive economic and social growth and improvement on behalf of, and in support of, our members and the community’. You see them at events such as the Business After Business networking mixer welcoming attendees at the door, giving out drink tickets, taking photos and working the crowd.

    Sean is a Commercial Account Manager with the Bank of Montreal, ensuring his clients have the right product and financing to succeed and meet their goals. He moved from South Korea to Prince George in 1996, and recently moved to Penticton with his wife, Jin and 9 month old son, Eric. Sean is taking advantage of Penticton by playing soccer, tennis, going camping and snowboarding in his free time. 

    Sean experienced his first Business After Business as an ambassador at the Sandman Hotel’s exceptional event. “I like meeting new people and being involved in community events,” says Sean, “My favorite part about being an ambassador is having the chance to meet new people that are passionate about their business.”

    Next time you see Sean, or any of the Chamber ambassadors at a Chamber event, stop and have a chat with them. All Ambassadors are happy to introduce you to Chamber members and make you feel welcome at all Chamber events.

    Launch CelebrationOn September 24th we finally launched all the new programs for the Chamber that we have been teasing for the pastfew months.  With the support of our sponsors, Princeton Wood Preservers Ltd, Tourism Penticton and Neon Wolfe Creations, we announced our new website, new branding, new event series and officially kicked off the inaugural Penticton Top 40 Under 40 Campaign.
