    General Guidelines:
    -Any business or individual may be nominated for any award category -- Nominee must have a valid business for a minimum of three years, except New Business Award (1-3 years) -- Businesses must have a valid business license where required -- Organization, businesses or individuals may not nominate themselves for any reward -- Award winners may not be nominated in the same category for three years following their win, but can be nominated and win in other categories -- All nominees will be required to complete a Nominee Information Form to finalize their nomination.

    This award recognizes the contribution a business has made to the community through inclusive hiring practices. This business can be Aboriginal or immigrant owned & operated or have made a significant positive impact on our multicultural community. This award serves to highlight the importance of the business connections made between the diverse local cultures and communities and the amazing work that can be done when we work together.
    Agricultural & Agri-Business Excellence:
    A Penticton & Wine Country business in the Agriculture and Agri-Business sector demonstrating innovation, leadership and outstanding achievement in the commitment to advancement and sustainability of the agriculture industry. This business offers high quality products or service and has excellent customer and employee relationships. The business can be from one of the following- Craft Brewery| Distillery| Spirits| Farms| Orchards| and other Agricultural products
    Business of the Year:
    A Penticton & Wine Country business that stands out among peers as a leading organization both in its approach to business and in service to the community. This business exemplifies a civic community leadership role and demonstrates positive economic and /or social impact on the region. They show true business excellence in overall operations, including customer service, employee development/relations, site aesthetics, marketing, innovation, community contribution, inclusiveness and allowance for disabilities.
    Business Leader of the Year:
    A Penticton & Wine Country business person who is the founder, owner, CEO, President or Senior Executive of a company or companies. This person has made an outstanding contribution to the business environment, shows excellence in their chosen field, overall business acumen, customer service, community involvement, leadership and employee relations. They exemplify a civic community leadership role and demonstrate positive economic and /or social impact on the region.
    Community Support Excellence:
    A business that voluntarily engages in activities that enhance the quality of life in the community and supports these endeavors through personal time and/or resources. They have a reputation for showing benefits of service to the community by creating a corporate culture of giving with an emphasis on community volunteerism unrelated to their core mandate.
    Excellence in Marketing Innovation:
    This award celebrates the very best in marketing and communications. It gives recognition to the business that has embraced creativity in its marketing efforts through a unique campaign or project that has increased business and exposure. This may include branding, graphic design, advertising, public relations, and the innovative use of social media and digital tools in addition to traditional marketing methods.
    Family Friendly Excellence:
    This award celebrates the very best in marketing and communications. It gives recognition to the business that has embraced creativity in its marketing efforts through a unique campaign or project that has increased business and exposure. This may include branding, graphic design, advertising, public relations, and the innovative use of social media and digital tools in addition to traditional marketing methods.
    Home Based Business Excellence:
    A Penticton & Wine Country home operated business that has demonstrated excellence in product or service innovation. Must be a licensed home-based business. This business shows excellence in their chosen field, overall business acumen, and customer service.
    Hospitality/Tourism Excellence:
    A hospitality or tourism business that provides exemplary service, products, or attractions to Penticton visitors, and offers a tourism or hospitality product or service that promotes the Penticton region as a destination. This business has demonstrated collaboration with other tourism industry partners to enhance a visitor’s experience in a manner that strengthens the vision of Penticton as a destination.
    Industrial & Manufacturing Excellence:
    A Penticton & Wine Country business that has strengthened the economic base of Penticton through excellence in development, manufacturing or fabrication. They exhibit a long-standing history of excellence in the area of employee safety. They have a reputation as an industry leader in their respective market.
    New Business Award:
    A Penticton & Wine Country business that has demonstrated a commitment to Penticton as a place to do business. In their first year they have already shown business excellence in overall operations, including customer service, employee development/relations, site aesthetics, marketing, innovation and community contribution. They are well on their way to becoming an outstanding corporate citizen of our community. Must be in business for a least one year to a maximum of three years.
    Professional Service Excellence:
    A Penticton & Wine Country licensed professional organization that provides services to their clients with a history of positive customer feedback. This business demonstrates a consistent adherence to high quality customer service and support through ongoing employee training programs.
    Retail Excellence:
    A Penticton and wine country business that is proactive to changing market trends, provides a variety of products and has a reputation of excellent product knowledge. It has established strong relationships with its customers and staff and is recognized for exemplary customer service and support through ongoing employee training programs. Exceptional detail is paid to aesthetics and atmosphere.
    Sustainability Excellence:
    A Penticton & Wine Country business that demonstrates an ongoing commitment to the environment by considering the impact on the environment in all decision making, product/service development and business practices. They must be able to demonstrate at least one green practice in three or more of the following areas; Waste prevention | Recycling | Purchasing | Energy and waste conservation | Involving stakeholders (employees, customers and/or suppliers) in greening your business | Transportation | Operations | Other
    Workplace Culture Excellence:
    The business fosters a culture of inclusivity and commitment to employee development inspiring loyalty, driving performance and a good work ethic. It demonstrates an exceptional commitment to its employees through competitive employment packages. It shows dedication to provide professional development and/or advancement opportunities with a focus on workplace culture and work/life balance, as well as employee recognition and reward programs. They are inclusive, celebrating employee differences and welcoming contributions from each employee’s unique gifts.
    Winery of the Year:
    The Penticton & Wine Country winery demonstrating innovation, leadership and outstanding achievement in the commitment to advancement of the wine industry. This business offers award winning products, exceptional service and has excellent customer and employee relationships.
    Young Business Leader of the Year:
    A Penticton & Wine Country business leader aged 40 years or younger who is the founder, owner, CEO, President or Senior Executive of a company or companies. This person has made an outstanding contribution to the business environment, shows excellence in their chosen field, overall business acumen, customer service, community involvement, leadership and employee relations. They exemplify a civic community leadership role and demonstrate positive economic and /or social impact on the region.
